A special note

about the car show

Last year this show had more than 500 entries. Our largest show prior to 2007 was 410 entries a few years back.   Quite honestly we were not prepared for this number however we all had a great day with no major problems or unhappy car show participants.  Our timing worked out well with 500+ car show participants rumbling out of Jordan shortly after 5:00 pm!

We are a group of more than 400 volunteers working year 'round on all aspects of the Festival including this car show.  We all work very, very hard to assure that you will have a safe and enjoyable time with us.  If you have a problem of any kind  please don't beat up our workers about it.  Have me paged either at the Car Show or the Festival Information booth or call me on my cell phone 315.730.7498.

Thank you to everyone that participates in our show each year and welcome to all new participants.  We'd like to extend an extra special thank you to the Prison City Ramblers for their help.  Without their guidance and support the Jordan Show would not be what it is today.

Thanks guys.

I can't wait to see all your cars, bikes n' trucks rumbling in to

Jordan September 21st.

Frequently Asked Questions

about the show

What qualifies as an antique car?

According to the Antique Automobile Club of America an antique car generally over 25 years of age.

"How about a classic car?"

From Wikipedia - Classic car is a term frequently used to describe an older car, but the exact meaning is subject to serious differences in opinion.

"Can I see my judging sheet to see where I can improve?"
This year there will be no judging.

A selection committee will determine the Favorite Festival Forty.

"I don't like the answer you gave me.  Who's your boss?

To whom can I appeal?"
There is no "boss" and  there are no appeals.  The buck stops right here.  The Jordan Fall Festival Committee fronts most of the money to buy dash plaques and trophies (not so much anymore, thanks to our awesome sponsors) and then we bring home the bacon that comes from you folks at the end of the day Sunday.  We fully support the judge's decisions, and their decision is final.  They are volunteers doing this out of the goodness of their hearts.

"I still don't like your answers.  I will bring it up at our club meeting and other meetings I attend in Syracuse." [Comment from an actual email, verbatim]
We are amateurs and we make mistakes and sometimes our awards seem to be totally arbitrary, we know that.  We try hard and the vast majority of the time we are pretty darn close to the mark, and anyone who's been to our show more than once knows that.  If you are uncomfortable with how we do things, then simply stay home next year, because we refuse to get beat up by the 3% that cannot be pleased no matter what happens.  The other 97% DO "get it".
